Getting Better.....

I cannot tell you how hard it is to photograph my own children. I guess I take pictures so much that they just don't want anymore. Austin gives me a quick cheese that looks like he is making an O mouth and Elise gives me the fake smile where her eyes look like she is ridiculously bored.

I thought maybe today would be different. Yesterday Elise and I had "mommy and me" time. Things have been rough lately with her behavior and I thought maybe she just needed to know she was special. So, we went and got pedicures together and then she chose to eat at the pizza place and play a video game while we were there.

I think I will try this before every shoot I do with them. I actually think it worked. I love these pictures. Austin is another story, he still did the cheese mouth, but I love his facial expressions. I feel like I capture his personality when I get the funny looks that he makes all the time.

So, without further ado here are a few pics that we took today. At least my favs!! Enjoy!!

This last one is too funny. I have no idea what happened here or what they are looking at, but when I saw this pic I just laughed!!

Sweet Baby

So, a few weeks ago, I took some really fun maternity pics for a good friend of mine and on Friday she had her sweet baby. He is so tiny, weighing only 5lbs and 13ozs, but he is adorable. I got to visit them in the hospital on Saturday and so I took my camera and got a few hospital pics just for fun. I can't wait to take his newborn pics. I just know they will be sooo cute!!! I can't wait to see you again A.

12 inches too long....

The first haircut is always a huge deal to parents. I think especially so on your sweet little girls. Which is exactly why, at 5 years of age, my daughter has had her hair trimmed three times in her whole life. And when I say trimmed I mean far less than an inch. She had the most beautiful curly hair when she was little and it was just so cute I could never cut it.

Well, her hair ended up being all the way down her backside, and we were dealing with being 5, sassy, and having far too many tangles. So, we talked about cutting her hair for a while and she wasn't ready, and then she finally said she was ready.

We head over to the hair salon and we let our girl know that we are donating to locks of love. I realize of course that I forgot my camera so no, I did not get any pics of this. She puts Elise's hair in a pony tail and wack, it's gone and I think the first thing I said was, "Kids hair grows back fast, right?"

Needless to say, I am not super excited about her haircut, but she was so we made a big deal to tell her how pretty it is. It has been a week now since we did that, and I can not say yet that it has grown on me. Yes, I like it, and it is much easier, but she looks older and I was not ready for that. Here are just a few pics so you can see the new hair.
