Getting Better.....

I cannot tell you how hard it is to photograph my own children. I guess I take pictures so much that they just don't want anymore. Austin gives me a quick cheese that looks like he is making an O mouth and Elise gives me the fake smile where her eyes look like she is ridiculously bored.

I thought maybe today would be different. Yesterday Elise and I had "mommy and me" time. Things have been rough lately with her behavior and I thought maybe she just needed to know she was special. So, we went and got pedicures together and then she chose to eat at the pizza place and play a video game while we were there.

I think I will try this before every shoot I do with them. I actually think it worked. I love these pictures. Austin is another story, he still did the cheese mouth, but I love his facial expressions. I feel like I capture his personality when I get the funny looks that he makes all the time.

So, without further ado here are a few pics that we took today. At least my favs!! Enjoy!!

This last one is too funny. I have no idea what happened here or what they are looking at, but when I saw this pic I just laughed!!

Sweet Baby

So, a few weeks ago, I took some really fun maternity pics for a good friend of mine and on Friday she had her sweet baby. He is so tiny, weighing only 5lbs and 13ozs, but he is adorable. I got to visit them in the hospital on Saturday and so I took my camera and got a few hospital pics just for fun. I can't wait to take his newborn pics. I just know they will be sooo cute!!! I can't wait to see you again A.

12 inches too long....

The first haircut is always a huge deal to parents. I think especially so on your sweet little girls. Which is exactly why, at 5 years of age, my daughter has had her hair trimmed three times in her whole life. And when I say trimmed I mean far less than an inch. She had the most beautiful curly hair when she was little and it was just so cute I could never cut it.

Well, her hair ended up being all the way down her backside, and we were dealing with being 5, sassy, and having far too many tangles. So, we talked about cutting her hair for a while and she wasn't ready, and then she finally said she was ready.

We head over to the hair salon and we let our girl know that we are donating to locks of love. I realize of course that I forgot my camera so no, I did not get any pics of this. She puts Elise's hair in a pony tail and wack, it's gone and I think the first thing I said was, "Kids hair grows back fast, right?"

Needless to say, I am not super excited about her haircut, but she was so we made a big deal to tell her how pretty it is. It has been a week now since we did that, and I can not say yet that it has grown on me. Yes, I like it, and it is much easier, but she looks older and I was not ready for that. Here are just a few pics so you can see the new hair.

My First Maternity Shoot

I was so nervous I thought I was going to be sick. Not only was this my first maternity shoot, but it was my first time shooting in studio. I normally do pics outdoors since the natural light makes things so beautiful, but today my amazing mentor (Kim) helped me out in the studio and it was great!!! I am telling you now, this is one of the most beautiful women(pregnant or not) I have ever seen. Thank you soo much to my great friend and her husband and sweet baby to be for allowing me this amazing privilege. Here are a few just for fun. There are so many more that I can't wait for you to see. I hope you love them!!!!

Slow

I am not completely used to the whole blog thing yet, so sorry if it seems like I take a while in between posts. Hopefully with more pictures there will be more posts. So, the summer is slow for pictures. I have to get used to that. Kim (my mentor) is out of state almost all summer, so I don't have her around either to follow around.

I have my first maternity shoot on the 28th and I am super excited about that. She is a good friend of mine having her first sweet baby and she is one of the most beautiful pregnant women I have ever seen. I went to her baby shower on Sat and took pics of everyone and all the cute baby stuff. I will post some of those later so you can see how cute she is.

On another note, God is working in our lives a lot. I wish I could tell you everything, but for now I will be basic. There are some opportunities in the air that we are praying about and I hope you will pray with us. Changes are never fun, at least I don't seem to like change much. So, doors are opening and I am also hoping to be taking a lot more pictures very soon.

Starting in August will be "Christmas Season" and I think that will be a lot of fun. I am trying to come up with a great Christmas card, so if you have any suggestions feel free to let me know.

I feel like this is a really boring post, but I promise they will get better!!!

I am completely stunned!!!!

All week I have been so ready for my sweet 5 year old to graduate Pre-K. And finally it was time. It was the cutest thing I have ever seen! They said the pledge of allegiance to the flag, the Christian flag, and the Bible. Then they did the alphabet in sign language, sang a song, and showed us a slide show of pictures from all their Field trips and fun things they did throughout the year. I just stared at her as she sang every word as happy as could be, and realized that my sweet girl was growing up WAY to fast for me. I am absolutely in shock! I almost started crying. (I didn't want her to think I was upset) All of the sudden she looked so big and I realized this was it. No more PRE school, from now on it would be school. I am so sad, and all at the same time, I am excited for her future. What a weird emotion. I feel so blessed tonight. God has given me an amazing daughter that I am so proud of. Here are some of her grad pics. And I had to throw one in there of my sweet 3 year old baby boy!! I just recently let his hair grow out and look how cute it is!!! Am I the only one who just didn't realize how much time had really passed?? Enjoy the pics!!
