Lollipop, Lollipop, Oh Lolly Lolly...Lollipop

Today I decided to get some practice with the kids. It's good to keep taking pictures for fun and not just work. Keeps me motivated and coming up with ideas. Sooo, I knew I would need bribery. So, I got theses lollipops and they were excited, so I made them take the "good" pictures before we took the silly pictures. I think they turned out pretty cute!!! Enjoy!!

Happy Little Kindergartener

The night before Kindergarten started, Elise and Austin were playing with a box. Which apparently is really fun because they had been playing in it for about an hour. Then they thought it would be fun to get in the box, and knock it over by jumping. As any mother would do, I warned them. "You better stop or your going to get hurt." But who listens to mom when they are having so much fun. So, they do it again and bang, Elise slams her head into the chair and immediately starts screaming. She is okay, but we started Kindergarten with a very swollen and red eye. Poor kid!! But I still think she is cute.

I think she likes Kindergarten. On her first day, she went right in, kissed me goodbye and was meeting all her friends before I even made it out the door. She was so excited. And I think the most exciting part was the bathroom sink that is automatic. You put your hands under it and the water comes out, she thought that was something else.

This morning we walked to school, and she liked that too. She wants to ride the bus, but seriously, we live less than a mile from the school. I don't think that is necessary. She loves taking her lunch and informed me yesterday that she ate everything I put in her lunch box.....except her sandwich. hahaha In other words, she ate her chips, her cookies, her apple sauce, had her juice and was good.

So here are a few pics on her first morning of Kindergarten. Too Cute!!!

Blessed....

I love to see new moms and this new mom happens to be a good friend of mine. It was such a pleasure to see little A again and Suzanne, you look amazing!! I loved seeing you with your sweet baby and seeing the smile on your face and the way you looked at him with such sweet love. I also loved listening to Shadd just talk about all the things he is so proud of. It's in those moments I think to myself, "God I know you are here, and in the details of our lives."

What an amazing blessing it is when we get to hold our sweet, tiny babies. Congrats Suzanne and Shadd. I know God has blessed you so much and he will continue to do so. Thank you for allowing me into your home to capture some sweet moments for you.

And thank you, Kim for all your help, you will never know what an amazing blessing you are!! I hope one day to return the blessings to you!!

Okay, let's get to the pictures. Here is just a preview of a few pics that we got. I hope you love them!!

Turning Two....

I can't believe she is turning two already!! This is my sweet niece E. She is so sweet and well mannered. And of course she is super cute with her big blue eyes. She is having a picnic birthday party so we did a few cute picnic shots. I love the cute little basket. Happy 2nd Birthday E!!

Getting Better.....

I cannot tell you how hard it is to photograph my own children. I guess I take pictures so much that they just don't want anymore. Austin gives me a quick cheese that looks like he is making an O mouth and Elise gives me the fake smile where her eyes look like she is ridiculously bored.

I thought maybe today would be different. Yesterday Elise and I had "mommy and me" time. Things have been rough lately with her behavior and I thought maybe she just needed to know she was special. So, we went and got pedicures together and then she chose to eat at the pizza place and play a video game while we were there.

I think I will try this before every shoot I do with them. I actually think it worked. I love these pictures. Austin is another story, he still did the cheese mouth, but I love his facial expressions. I feel like I capture his personality when I get the funny looks that he makes all the time.

So, without further ado here are a few pics that we took today. At least my favs!! Enjoy!!

This last one is too funny. I have no idea what happened here or what they are looking at, but when I saw this pic I just laughed!!

Sweet Baby

So, a few weeks ago, I took some really fun maternity pics for a good friend of mine and on Friday she had her sweet baby. He is so tiny, weighing only 5lbs and 13ozs, but he is adorable. I got to visit them in the hospital on Saturday and so I took my camera and got a few hospital pics just for fun. I can't wait to take his newborn pics. I just know they will be sooo cute!!! I can't wait to see you again A.

12 inches too long....

The first haircut is always a huge deal to parents. I think especially so on your sweet little girls. Which is exactly why, at 5 years of age, my daughter has had her hair trimmed three times in her whole life. And when I say trimmed I mean far less than an inch. She had the most beautiful curly hair when she was little and it was just so cute I could never cut it.

Well, her hair ended up being all the way down her backside, and we were dealing with being 5, sassy, and having far too many tangles. So, we talked about cutting her hair for a while and she wasn't ready, and then she finally said she was ready.

We head over to the hair salon and we let our girl know that we are donating to locks of love. I realize of course that I forgot my camera so no, I did not get any pics of this. She puts Elise's hair in a pony tail and wack, it's gone and I think the first thing I said was, "Kids hair grows back fast, right?"

Needless to say, I am not super excited about her haircut, but she was so we made a big deal to tell her how pretty it is. It has been a week now since we did that, and I can not say yet that it has grown on me. Yes, I like it, and it is much easier, but she looks older and I was not ready for that. Here are just a few pics so you can see the new hair.
